Leia Depeche

Leia Depeche grew up in Skaneateles and graduated from Skaneateles High School in 2011, where she was an active member of chorus, bell choir, and the drama club. She received her Bachelors in Theatre Education from SUNY Potsdam in 2015 and started teaching at Schenectady High School in 2016.

Leia teaches Introduction to Theatre, Acting for Musical Theatre, and a theatre elective for self-contained special education classes. She also runs Schenectady High School's resident theatre company: The Blue Roses Theatre Company, putting on four productions each year. Leia developed and runs a summer theatre camp for rising 3rd-5th graders, which is going into its 4th summer. Leia received a masters degree in Theatrical Design & Production from Southern Oregon University in 2022.

Leia credits the education she received in Skaneateles, as well as community programs such as Skaneateles Summer Theatre, for instilling in her a life-long appreciation of the performing arts. She is thrilled to join the Board of Off The Dock with so many talented musicians, educators, and community members. As a former Development Assistant with The Rev Theatre Company, Leia assists Off The Dock with grant applications and other fundraising strategies. Leia is looking forward to growing the organization and ensuring emerging musicians have meaningful professional performance opportunities as they begin their careers.
